Oprah and Eckhart Tolle, Monday, March 10

Oprah said that over 800,000 people had signed up for the event last night and over 1,600,000 people had viewed or downloaded the March 3 video!

The discussion last night was from Chapter 2. The main idea is that there is a difference between who you really are and your ego. Your ego is created by and feeds off of your thoughts, which are always focused on the past or the future. The real you exists in the present and is revealed and fed by your senses -- seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting, touching. Being in the present, being aware, brings a special kind of peace, power, and joy.

Oprah and Eckhart Tolle's Live Web Book Event, A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life's Purpose

I was late signing on tonight and couldn't get in at first. When I did finally, the video and audio kept pausing. But I left it on and after awhile it started working. Either people signed off because they couldn't see it either or Oprah's people put more technology online. Oprah said that over 700,000 people signed up for the event.

My favorite parts (of the parts I saw):

There is nothing you could have done to anyone or that anyone could have done to you to destroy that part of you. It's still there. No matter what madness there has been in your life, that part of you is untouched.

No matter where you are, become friendly with the present moment. Acceptance first, then change.

Practice being aware: Ask yourself, "Am I still breathing?"

Oprah's Worldwide Book Event with Eckhart Tolle starts TONIGHT!

As of Saturday, over 500,000 people had signed up for Oprah's remarkable worldwide book event with Eckhart Tolle, which starts TONIGHT! Oprah and Eckhart will host webinars weekly for 10 weeks, starting March 3, for the reading of his book: A New Earth, Awakening to Your Life's Purpose.

Local discussion groups are forming all over the world. There is one in Albuquerque at the Hastings at Tramway & Candelaria. It meets the Tuesday after the webcast. You can come either from 2:00-3:00 PM or from 7:00-8:00 PM. Our group leader is Barbara Tomlin. I like the book very much so far, but, just now, I am even more excited about the way the reading of it is being shared around the world!
